Lehrman Group has received official notice from two major health insurance companies that they will no longer pay commissions to brokers that market their ObamaCare plans. This should be a HUGE RED FLAG to anyone desiring to purchase a plan from either of these two companies. If these companies don’t care enough to pay commissions to the people that bring them their customers, you can just imagine what they think of their policyholders that spend the company’s money on medical care.

Arizona ObamaCare

Several weeks ago, we were notified by United HealthCare that they would no longer pay commissions to brokers on plans marketed to individuals under the age of 65.

Humana just notified us today (New Year’s Eve) that beginning March 1, 2016, they will not pay commissions on their under age 65 plans except for their cheapest, and only, bronze plan.

In their emailed notice to us, Humana had the graciousness to say: “Humana values our agent relationships and deeply appreciates your continued service… thank you for your continued support and participation in Humana MarketPoint’s Delegated Agent Program.” As Larry The Cable Guy would say, now that’s funny right there!

If you want to purchase an ObamaCare health insurance plan from United HealthCare or Humana, you’ll have to figure out some way to do that on your own since no broker or agent will help you unless they are simply being altruistic. Here at Lehrman Group, we have sold some United HealthCare plans to existing clients after the commissions were eliminated, but we will stop all non-Medicare United HealthCare sales to individuals and families within the next several hours. We will no longer market Humana plans except for their Medicare policies.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We can be reached at (800) 600-9663.
