Northwest & Oro Valley Hospitals Out-of-Network with UnitedHealthcare As Of May 1, 2017

We see this sort of thing happen now and again. It always gets fixed sooner or later, usually sooner. Both Northwest Hospital and Oro Valley Hospital are now off limits to literally all United HealthCare policy holders. If you have ANY KIND of health insurance from United HealthCare and your providers are in the Northwest Healthcare network, you need to be aware of this obstruction. As of right now, United HealthCare will not pay your medical bills at the in-network rate at these providers. This just in via email to us from United HealthCare: We have an important update about our negotiations with Northwest Healthcare and their participation in our network. Despite active discussions for the past several months, Northwest Healthcare did not renew its participation in our network for our employer-sponsored, individual, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid health plans and is out of network beginning May 1, 2017. Despite numerous [...]

Will You Need An Arizona Medicare Policy Soon?

If you are turning 65 years old soon, now is the time to look into your options for a Medicare health insurance plan. There are scores of health insurance companies offering Arizona Medicare plans. Some companies offer Advantage plans, some offer Medigap Supplement plans, and some offer both. Lehrman Group represents all the better-known carriers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Cigna, United HealthCare/AARP, Humana and Mutual of Omaha. To get a Medigap Supplement plan, you must enroll for Medicare Parts A and B - this can usually be done online in just a few minutes of your time at this US governmental web site or by visiting a Social Security office near you in person. You may usually do this if you are within three months of turning age 65. After you receive your ID card from Medicare, you may purchase a Medigap plan from the insurance company [...]

You CAN Still Get Health Insurance in Arizona

Did you miss the deadline to apply for an ObamaCare health insurance plan? 'Open Enrollment' ended on January 31, and if you did not apply for a plan, you probably won’t be able to get on a plan until Open Enrollment starts again in November. But there is a very good AND LOW COST, option that may be available to you. Here in Arizona, you can get a short term major medical health insurance policy that can go into force as soon as tonight at midnight. The cost is less than half the cost of a true ObamaCare policy, and the plan will cover most everything except for pre-existing conditions. If you have a heart attack or get hit by a bus or break an arm, this plan will pay the costs (after your chosen deductible). If you are 35 years old and live in Phoenix, you can get a [...]

UnitedHealth May Quit Obamacare

The death spiral has begun. Now that two full years of ObamaCare are past, the health insurance companies are discovering they are losing millions and millions of dollars, just like they knew they would. ANYONE can get a health insurance policy now, regardless of the fact they may need a heart transplant in a month. The health insurance companies are required to accept everyone who applies, and to cover all pre-existing conditions immediately. How in the world did anyone, let alone Mr Obama, think the health insurance companies would NOT lose money? Our professional opinion is this: Mr Obama KNEW that ALL health insurance companies would lose many millions of dollars annually. He knew the insurance companies would be forced to raise their premium rates to a ridiculous and absurdly high level. He knows that, soon down the road, Americans will say "these rate are CRAZY - give us nationalized [...]

Arizona Blue Cross Forcing Some Into Smaller Provider Networks

As ObamaCare was becoming the law of the land, President Obama stated “If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor. If you like your hospital you can keep your hospital.” But since ObamaCare plans came into existence on January 1, 2014, many health insurance companies offering plans here in Arizona limited the providers you could visit. Some large nationwide health insurance company’s networks were literally decimated and people found that the doctors they had been seeing for many years were no longer available under their new ObamaCare plan. This was not the case with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. You could see just about any Blue Cross provider anywhere in the USA. Lehrman Group brokers encouraged our clients into Arizona Blue Cross plans because Blue Cross did not make the decision to limit their impressive provider network to their existing and new customers. But this will change [...]
