Shim Lehrman
The World's Greatest Father and Friend

August 6, 1911 - February 25, 1988

Shim Lehrman

Shim Lehrman, born in Steelton (Harrisburg), Pennsylvania to Abraham and Ella Lehrman. Died in Scottsdale, Arizona.

He was a best friend to everyone that knew him; everyone that knew him loved him. He gave all he could to every worthy cause, and was involved with many civic and charitable organizations. His goal in life was to make everyone happy. A pendant on a chain that he wore around his neck reflected his philosophy: it said "Live, Love, Laugh."

Shim Lehrman was my father, and I miss him so. During the years that I was lucky and blessed to have him as my Dad on this earth, he was always supportive of me, and only gave to me what was good and wholesome. He never belittled me, made fun of me even in jest, or let me down. He was always the most gentle of gentlemen.

He is the role model I have used while raising my own children. I love you and miss you, Dad.

Click (right-click to download it) to hear Shim's surprise 65th birthday party held at the Harrisburg Community Theater, where 450 of Shim's closest friends surprised him in 1976. Warning: it's a very large file (52 megs, audio MP3 file, audio lasts over an hour). Shim thought he was going to a business meeting at the theater. You'll hear phony business-meeting goings-on for the first couple of minutes, then the surprise party begins.
